Background

Hasalaka is a picturesque town located in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. Nestled amidst lush greenery and surrounded by mist-covered hills, Hasalaka offers a serene and tranquil escape for visitors seeking to connect with nature.

Why Hasalaka

One of the primary issues in Hasalaka is poverty, which is prevalent among the rural population. Income disparities are substantial, with many residents relying on agriculture as their primary source of income, which can be unpredictable and vulnerable to climate fluctuations. Lack of diverse employment opportunities can lead to high rates of unemployment, particularly among the girls and young women.

TARGET GROUP: Female School leavers from most economically backward environment

PROGRAM CONTENTS: Personality development, Financial literacy, Life coaching, Internet technology, Manage with men, Employment/ entrepreneur prospects and links.
